Winter Update

Winter is here and its FREEZING here in Oregon. It was a low of 13 degrees last night. I know i havent posted in months.. sorry. :(

Ive been busy working at the family medicine through ohsu. its a really great company to work for and I love it... i currently work 3-4 days a week and it seems to be working out well.

Seth is continuing to be busy with work. He recently started a degree completion program at a school in portland, and goes one night a week.

The Holmes family has been busy busy with J.E. having a birthday in November, Thanksgiving, and Christmas approaching quickly. This past weekend we went and picked out a tree. Ive posted a few pictures of us. (thus Ethan's bright pink nose) it was FREEZING but so much fun.

Speaking of Ethan, he is so SO close to crawling.. He actually manages to get accross the room by rolling,squirming, and pulling.. but hasnt QUITE crawled yet. i expect in the next few weeks..

also he decided that he wanted teeth and has begun that fun process, keeping mom and dad awake for hours the last few nights screaming and crying... cant wait to see those teeth though! He has also graduated to eating some solid foods, and loves bananas and carrots and apples. He is growing so quickly and changes every day, making new sounds, and developing his own little personality.

Hey all.

Sorry its been FOREVER since ive updated... needless to say its been crazy busy for the Holmes family.

I have been working my new job at ohsu in scappoose, Seth is keeping busy with his job. We've had a great summer and cant believe that the summer is already over!

Ethan is growing faster than we can keep up with. He is beginning to sit up on his own, and overnight, his personality is just blossoming. He is most definetly a morning person, waking with a smile on his face. Like i mentioned he enjoys sitting up and looking at his surroundings. He is very much into looking at people's faces. He is quick to smile, and Seth can make him laugh like no one else. :)

Hello loyal blog followers. The summer is flying by and we've been so busy! we've gotten settled into our temporary home just in time to conisder purchasing a house. We had some recent family photos taken as a gift for mom and dad's 30th anniversary (woohoo!) so i posted one above. Below is Ethan with his cousin Jason. Jason LOVES his little cousin and often smothers him with hugs and "kisses"... hope everyone is having a great summer!

Summer Update

Wow time sure flies. it seems like the summer just started and yet people are talking about returning to school....Ethan continues to grow like a weed. He has changed so much in his 3 months and continues to suprise us almost daily with how quickly he changes and develops.

He has already learned how to roll onto his tummy and then screams because he hates being on his tummy.

He has been sleeping through the night since 8 weeks and its pretty wonderful. He wakes up (most mornings) happy as a clam and smiley as can be.

He continues to wear mostly 9 mth old clothes and we dont even bother with shoes because his feet are so big :)

this month Ethan participated in his first relay for life. He was dedicated by Pastor Cary Wacker..The Holmes family also went on our first family weekend vacation to Skamaina Lodge at hood river in the Gorge. We went on a hike that was supposedly stroller friendly and we ended up taking this weaving, narrow, mountain trail that was loaded with logs in the path, and stinging nettle. what an adventure! I ended up carrying Ethan a majority of the time while Seth carried that silly stroller. it was in the 90s that day and we were soaked and itchy and miserable and sweet little Ethan slept the whole time. lucky guy. We also visited Multnomah Falls.

Columbia County Fair

This year (just like every year) we went to the fair. and it was hot. as usual. but it was the first year for Ethan, and our nephew Jason also. Ethan was a little young to really appreciate it but Jason got to see a lot of animals and touch a sheep. Im pretty sure that he enjoyed the food the most.One of the vendors gave us lemonade samples in these teeny paper cups and he enjoyed pouring water everywhere and playing in it.... kids are so much fun.. i posted some pictures. enjoy! :)

FINALLY!

Hi loyal followers. Finally got a chance to upload some current pictures. I havent quite figured out how to post one pic at a time with a title so bear with me...(maybe cassie could teach me??) :)

Ethan just turned 8 weeks old and had his first Dr. Appt. He was happy as a clam until.. well you know... anyways, he's growing like a weed and as we all supsected, is in the 100th percentile for his height at over 24 inches. sheesh.
